We want to give a big congratulations to Asha Lyons for receiving a proclamation from the Governor’s Office in honor of Trans Day of Remembrance

Asha has been a pillar for the transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary community thanks to her incredible work in our Gender Affirmation Program. She guides patients through post-surgical care following gender affirmation surgery, providing clinical expertise and empathy. Everyone who has worked with her has always been so grateful for the love and care she gives.

That’s why the right home health aide makes such a difference. It’s not just the quality of care, but the connection, trust, and genuine companionship they build with your loved one. Ndeye is a great example of an HHA that does build that relationship with her patients.

“I try to talk to them, you know, even, because what I first do when I go to patient and I take a case for permanently, I try to be close to my patient. I try to be friendly to them until you know them, you know, if they know you, you can communicate with them.”

Long-term care is a lifeline for New Yorkers, and it needs strong support in this year’s state budget.

In a recent New York Amsterdam News article, Senator Cordell Cleare called for increased funding for Managed Long Term Care to protect and empower those in our community with the most complex needs. This specialized care helps New Yorkers age with dignity, ensuring they can access care essentials AND remain independent at home.
