Spring was in full bloom this week at our community, thanks to a wonderful visit from the Shue-Medill Middle School 4H Club! The students teamed up with community members for an afternoon of planting beautiful flowers and sharing plenty of smiles. There is something truly magical about bringing different generations together, and these intergenerational friendships always bring so much joy and reward to everyone involved. A heartfelt thanks goes out to these incredible students for brightening our gardens and our hearts.

We have a published author in our midst at Juniper! Community member Elvira Sarnecky, who has called our community home for the past two years, recently published her very own book, My Life Stories and Memories. Elvira is an incredibly talented, creative, and interesting woman, as well as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate this amazing milestone with her and are so incredibly proud to have her as part of our Juniper family! Congratulations, Elvira!

Missy from our Connections team brought the bling with an Earring Bar—Create Your Own Sparkle! ✨ Community members were able to design their own one-of-a-kind earrings, and it was a huge hit! BJ was touring a new couple who were absolutely delighted and pleasantly surprised to see the fun in action.

Juniper Village at Newark was out in full force and proud to join the celebration for the City of Newark’s Memorial Day Parade! Nyla and Casey packed the bus and headed downtown to catch all the excitement and honor the day. We waved to neighbors and soaked in the festive atmosphere while proudly representing Juniper Communities on this special Memorial Day!

Richard and Joan Libera have been part of the community since October 2024. Their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren traveled from near and far to surprise Joan for a special Mother’s Day celebration and a joyful family reunion. It was a truly wonderful day for Joan and Richard, surrounded by their beautiful family.

We had the most wonderful Mother’s Day Tea with an assortment of teas, delicate tea sandwiches, and delectable desserts. The atmosphere was perfect for reminiscing, with many sharing heartwarming stories about the journey of raising their children. Guests heard live music performed by Liz Watkins. We are so glad everyone had such a great time honoring the incredible women in our lives.

We had a blast getting creative in the kitchen with a batch of "apple nachos!" Topped with sweet caramel drizzle and a variety of crunchy treats, it made for a perfect afternoon of sticky fingers, big smiles, and delicious fun. Shared laughter and sweet snacks were the perfect ingredients for a wonderful time together.

It was a heartwarming sight outside the sales office at Juniper Village at Newark as Susan, Sandra, Louella, and Josephine gathered to enjoy a beautiful, sunny day together. Their afternoon of conversation and connection perfectly captures the spirit of the community. It is truly wonderful to see friends making the most of the lovely weather and sharing such a joyful time outdoors.
