Trust me "We" forget about alot of things, your not alone.

Let's list them:

Comfort & Pain support ~ Rebozo, Lip balm, essential oils and massage tools.

Labor support ~ Birth Ball, Yoga ball, Tens unit, and positioning

Emotional and Environment support ~ Affirmation cards, battery - operated candles, music and birth goal.

Partner Support & Client CareEssential - snacks and hydration 🤣😂

Professional Must haves ~ Phone charger, change of clothes, Notepad, Pen, Laptop..

Today we celebrate the hands that hold, the voices that advocate, and love that transforms birth into a safe and sacred experience. The essential role that we play in birth justice, community care and advocacy. We honor and uplift the beautiful opportunity to support families and our community. We continue the tradition in caring 🫶🏾.

The start of 2026🤗 7 weeks early... 31 hours later at 2:26am January 3rd.. "Prince Legend" made his entrance into the world 🎊🥳🎉 ~ Mom and baby are doing well 🫶🏾

I could use so many words 😡🤬...

And this is HOW "Black Women" are treated. This is sick! This nurse didn't even turn around to look at the patient (the mom to be) or acknowledge her pain... you can clearly hear in her voice that's she's in Active Labor.... BABY delivered 12 minutes later...

Black Health Mortality rates remain significantly higher than those of other racial and ethnic groups. Black women face maternal mortality rates that are approximately 3.5 time higher.
We Deserve Better! Black Mother's Matter!

Oh what a night! We had a ball, it's such a pleasure and opportunity to be in community. The Birth Justice Institute has taught me alot being in Pathway 1 and Hub facilitator my first year ☺️. I enjoyed every moment and wouldn't change anything. Thank you my peers and the Birth Justice Institute for having me. This journey is just the beginning. Til next year!

I hope that this post finds you well. As we gear up for the fall/winter. My Doula sisters and I are excited to invite you to a special day. "Doula Wellness Summer Picnic" Saturday, August 23rd, 12 pm - 2 pm, meet us at Elmwood Park, East Orange, NJ, by the clubhouse. Join us for a day to relax, recharge, release, and regroup in the park.

Bring your yoga mat, a blanket, a water bottle, and a snack.

My friend/colleague Jenny, who is an occupational therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist here in Essex County, NJ, created this amazing space to bring awareness to moms with a special offer to give away a free manual lymph drainage session to 6 breastfeeding moms.
