If I continue to bang my head against the wall, maybe my headache will stop. That’s what it feels like sometimes to hold myself to certain standards that no longer fit my current life stage.
Motherhood is the land of change. Once you get accustomed to your child sleeping one way, they start to enter a new developmental stage and you need to shift again.
Our society conditions us that black and white, non-moving goals are success. They need to look a certain way.
A more feminine way of approaching this stage in our life - where our identity shifts, and we are navigating unknown territory - is to be more in the gray. NOT in the black-and-white.
Is keeping my house clean really worth it if it’s causing me stress? Yes, a cluttered home adds mental clutter… But at what cost? There is a day-to-day assessment of priorities that is needed.
Yes, my value system is to live holistically but in doing all of the holistic things, it sets up unattainable expectations, it’s not worth it.
GRACE & FLOW are essential. These are feminine qualities. And during motherhood, in the epitome of the feminine experience, it’s asking us to lean in to these qualities. To allow our INTUITION to guide us and our daily decisions.
