Our second NDEAM highlight comes courtesy of our friends, Evan and Refractron Technologies Corporation in Newark.

Refractron "manufactures durable ceramics for many demanding applications, including those used to manufacture semiconductor chips, dewater minerals, process chemicals, purify water, preserve food, analyze emissions, drill for oil, dewater minerals, draw wire, cut metal and extend the life of high-pressure pumps."

Evan, who has been working as a custodian at Refractron since early June of this year, expressed appreciation that everyone at the company treats him like everyone else and that they help him when he asks for it. When asked, the employees at Refractron mentioned their gratefulness for Evan's work ethic and the quality of his work.

Happy National Case Management Week! This is an annual observance in the second full week of October (October 12–18) and is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the work of case managers who help individuals navigate complex healthcare and social services.

The 2025 theme is "Guiding Journeys," which puts an emphasis on the role of case managers as advocates and problem-solvers. To learn more about National Case Management Week, give our friends at Case Management Society of America a look! https://www.facebook.com/cmsanational

Feel free to use the comments below to give a shout out to a hardworking Case Manager! The Arc Wayne wishes to show our appreciation to all of those who work as Case and Care Managers.

This Tuesday, we celebrated the official dedication of our new playground at Roosevelt Children's Center. As you can see from the photos, not even a little rain could dampen our excitement. With the completion of the new playground, we are now able to provide our learners with a safe, accessible, and inclusive space for them to play, explore, and develop lifelong memories on.

A massive thank you to Tom Golisano (represented by Erica Dayton, Executive Director of The Golisano Foundation), The Marshall Family Foundation, and The Arc of Wayne Foundation for their generous contributions, without which, this project would have been difficult to achieve.
