Licking Memorial Health Professionals (LMHP) participated in the Catholic Social Services “Baskets of Love” project this holiday season. The generous donations resulted in more than 60 baskets and reusable shopping bags filled with household necessities, paper products, toiletries, towels, gift cards, postage stamps, and activity books. Catholic Social Services will hand-deliver the items to homebound seniors.

Licking Memorial Hospital has been recognized among Castle Connolly’s 2025 Top Hospital Awards for excellence in key medical procedures. LMH earned the State Gold Standard Award. Castle Connolly’s Top Hospitals designation is a new distinction, highlighting some of the nation’s leading healthcare institutions. The inaugural list recognized over 1,400 hospitals for their excellence in performing specific medical procedures.

Nobody wants to be sick during the holidays! Washing hands is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stop the spread of germs and maintain good health. Clean hands help prevent illnesses such as diarrhea and respiratory infections, including the common cold and flu. Many germs are transmitted when hands are not washed properly, which is why handwashing is especially important after using the bathroom, preparing food, before eating, and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.

Please join Gurunanthan Palani, M.D., of Licking Memorial Endocrinology, for a Walk with a Doc event on Saturday, January 17. Participants will enjoy a casual, 40-minute walk at the Licking County Family YMCA as Dr. Palani leads a discussion and answers questions about thyroid disease. Healthy snacks and blood pressure screenings will be provided. Registration is required for this free event and may be completed by calling the Licking Memorial Events Line at (220) 564-1560.

LMHS recently hosted its Annual Holiday Party for employees, medical staff, retirees, board members, volunteers, and Hospital supporters. The celebration included a complimentary meal of delicious holiday favorites prepared by the Culinary Services staff and served by members of the LMHS leadership.

Congratulations to Todd Lemmon, M.D., of Licking Memorial Gynecology, the lucky winner of the Tuscany Raffle drawing! The live raffle drawing was held Tuesday evening at Palumbo's Italian Market in Granville, where guests enjoyed delicious food, wine, and a festive, holiday atmosphere. LMHS President & CEO Rob Montagnese was emcee for the event. Paul and Cindy Palumbo, owners of Palumbo’s Italian Market, generously donated a 7-night vacation in their brand-new villa located in Rivalto, Italy for the raffle drawing, and Cindy drew the winning ticket. Licking Memorial Hospital earned Platinum level recognition for efforts to increase organ, eye, and tissue donor registrations through the 2025 DoNation Campaign. The Campaign is a national initiative that unites the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the organ donation community with workplaces across the United States in spreading the word about the importance of donation. LMH partners with Lifeline of Ohio in the outreach efforts. Representatives from Lifeline of Ohio presented the award to the LMH Organ Donation Council on December 8.
