This is a picture of Kenneth Freas and the school bus that he owned jointly with his brother Ralph. The Freas family transported students for Hartford Centralized School in Licking County Ohio (Now part of Northridge Local School District). The family had the bus from 1935 to 1941. Back then, you had to own your own bus to get a school transportation contract.

Substituted urine specimens (often synthetic or another person's) in the general U.S. workforce increased by 633% in 2023.

The 2023 data represents the highest rate of drug test tampering in more than 30 years.

DOT's Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance has published the 2026 annual random selection rates for drug and alcohol testing of safety sensitive transportation employees. There was a change in the Federal Railroad Administration. All other agency testing rates for 2026 are unchanged.

The following chart outlines the annual minimum drug and alcohol random testing rates established within DOT Agencies
