During Women’s History Month, America’s unions honor the trailblazing women who have fought for workers’ rights, dignity and respect in the workplace, and are standing up for working people today at the bargaining table, in the streets and in the halls of power.

Working people are tired of billionaires and giant corporations getting even richer while we’re fighting for scraps.

Workers are hungry to take back their power, and they’re turning to the labor movement to fight back and win. ✊

What are you waiting for? Fight for your rights!

Maryland lawmakers begin work on banning surveillance pricing as retail advocates object

HB0148 would prohibit the use of personal or biometric data when companies set their prices.

The practice — known as surveillance pricing — is used to set customized prices for individuals based on data collected around their traits and characteristics, often through artificial intelligence (AI)....

An amendment to the bill — that would need lawmaker approval — is proposing banning electronic shelving labels (ESLs) altogether, which are digital price tags in stores that allow companies to adjust prices without manually changing tags.

“ESLs allow a company to change prices instantly, several times a day for different customers. Without this prohibition, companies will continue to implement surveillance based pricing at scale,” said Elizabeth Bobo, legislative director at the Maryland State and DC AFL-CIO. https://www.wypr.org/wypr-news/2026-02-11/maryland-lawmakers-begin-work-on-banning-surveillance-pricing-as-retail-advocates-object

NATCA’s Boots on the Ground program has been a successful part of our Union’s political activity since the 2008 election and we are proud to announce that we will be continuing this program for the 2026 election.

NATCA is currently recruiting retired or soon-to-be retired members who would be willing to participate full-time in the program beginning in the late spring/early summer. Selected members will receive training and then be assigned to a specific geographic area where they will help run the Labor 2026 program.

More information and the application are available on our website. Please do not fill out the application while on duty, in a federal facility, or using federally owned equipment. Selections will be made by NATCA’s National Executive Board. The application period will end March 9, 2026. Learn more and apply here: https://www.natca.org/boots-on-the-ground-2026/.

Thousands of students in Delaware experience homelessness each year.

And that, in turn, creates a number of secondary barriers to their success, from food insecurity to stress and anxiety over their lack of access to basic household items.

That is why college students in our union’s Aspiring Educators program have launched a collection drive for toiletry items that will be delivered to students experiencing homelessness prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

If you are able, please consider donating shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes, deodorant, body wash, soap, socks and other items to this worthwhile cause.

Several drop-off locations are available, including the Education and Humanities Building at Delaware State University, Delaware Tech’s George Campus in Wilmington, or DSEA’s offices in Dover and Newark.

If you have questions or need assistance making a donation, please email DSEA Member Programs Coordinator Tammy Wagner at tammy.wagner@dsea.org or DSEA Aspiring Educators Secretary Jailyn Boseman at jailynbosemanhowie@icloud.com.
