Planning a maternity photoshoot soon?
Here are a few tips to help you feel confident, beautiful, and totally at ease in front of the camera.
✨ Aim for 28–34 weeks!
This is that sweet spot where your bump is round and visible, but you’re still feeling (somewhat) comfortable. You’ll move easier, pose longer, and feel more like yourself.
📸 Find a photographer you click with!
Look for someone whose work you love and who makes you feel relaxed. A gentle presence behind the lens makes all the difference.
👗 Dress to highlight your bump!
Fitted gowns, flowy fabrics, soft layers...whatever feels good to you. Choose comfort over trends. And if it moves in the breeze? Even better.
🎨 Stick with soft, simple colors!
Neutrals and pastels always photograph beautifully. Avoid bold prints or logos that take attention away from your glow.
👣 Bring your people (or your pup!)!
Whether it’s your partner, a sibling-to-be, or just someone who helps you laugh, this moment is about connection.
🧸 Add a meaningful detail!
A sonogram photo, tiny shoes, or even your heartbeat bear can make a beautiful touch in a few frames.
And most importantly? Let go.
