We're pleased to announce that we have received a Five-Star Rating (the highest rating) for Overall Quality and Quality Measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It's a testament to the excellent care that we provide to our residents and patients each and every day. We thank our staff members for their hard work and dedication and we'll continue to strive to provide the highest level of care to those we serve.

Our facility is currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak and has implemented a plan to control exposure. We require everyone who enters the building to wear a mask and request no one who is sick visits the facility. Come to the New Community Corporation Health Fair tomorrow in the parking lot behind our facility. This completely free event will include health screenings, food, refreshments and music. We hope to see you there!

Tomorrow we're hosting our annual New Community Health Fair. Come to this completely free community event, which features health screenings, food, refreshments and music. There will be a variety of area agencies in attendance providing information about services as well. Our own New Community Extended Care Facility, New Community Career & Technical Institute, Family Service Bureau of Newark (FSB), Property Management, Harmony House and Early Learning Centers will be there. We hope to see you tomorrow!

Frednitta Gunning of Newark coordinates care and serves as power of attorney for her older brother, Stanley McKoy, who has dementia. She was unhappy with the facility he was in and found us when she was researching alternatives. She moved her brother to Extended Care in May and is happy with her decision. We're so happy to be able to provide quality care for Mr. McKoy and all of the patients we serve!

Newark resident Alenda Mills is one of our success stories. She recently received short-term care and physical therapy, which enabled her to return home after dealing with knee pain due to arthritis that left her unable to walk for a time. We wish Ms. Mills all the best!

All aboard! Today we cruised to Italy - virtually. No passport needed! Our patients enjoyed their time learning some words in Italian and seeing views of the country. We hope everyone had fun!
