We are thrilled to share that our first meal service at the Hope Center of New Castle County was a wonderful success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to provide a warm, nourishing meal to residents and the support was truly inspiring. Special thanks go to Beta Xi Chapter for their generous donation toward the food!

This initiative aligns with our ongoing commitment to service and community engagement. As part of their Community Clinical hours, several of our senior nursing students have been working at the Hope Center, gaining valuable experience while supporting an organization that offers temporary and permanent housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. Located in the former Sheraton off I-95, the Hope Center is a vital resource for Delawareans in need, providing housing and meals through partnerships with local groups like ours.

We are proud to be a part of this important mission and look forward to continuing our collaboration. Please enjoy the attached photos from the evening, and stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved.

Climate change is one of the greatest public health threats of our time and whether we like it or not, taking care of our health comes with taking care of the environment. Senior UDSON student Kaylin Alvares highlights how the Community Garden Project represents true prevention: building resilience, increasing access to fresh food, and creating spaces for connection and wellness. Supporting initiatives like this is one way we can start addressing the health impacts of climate change right here on campus.
