Do you do medical massage or Swedish massage?
The short answer: both.
The real answer is that every session is customized to the person on the table.
Swedish massage is what most people think of when they hear the word “massage.” It uses long, flowing strokes designed to relax the nervous system, increase circulation, and help the body release tension. For many clients, simply relaxing the body can significantly reduce pain and stress.
Medical massage is a little different. It’s more targeted and focused on a specific issue—things like chronic pain, injury recovery, tight muscles, or limited range of motion. Techniques may include deeper work, trigger point therapy, stretching, or tools like cupping to help loosen fascia and break up adhesions.
But the truth is, most real-life sessions include a blend of techniques.
Some clients need deep tissue work to address stubborn tension.
Some have conditions like fibromyalgia and need a very gentle approach.
Others are overwhelmed and just need their nervous system to calm down.
My goal is always the same: meet each client where they are and use the techniques that will help their body feel and function better.
No two bodies are the same, and no two sessions should be either
