Please join us in welcoming Co-founder and Director along side Shannon here at RCP, Natalie!
Slide 1 : Meet Natalie
🎓 - Doctor of Occupational Therapy
💼 - OT, Co-Founder & Director at RCP
🌟Fun Fact: Natalie has a knack for spotting heart-shaped rocks everywhere she goes.
Q: What inspired you to become an OT?
A: Ages ago, way back when I was teaching, I had a student who desperately needed OT. But there was no funding. No support. No help. I found myself trying to be the OT he needed, creating ways to help him succeed where he belonged - in our classroom. This led me down the rabbit hole and by year two of teaching, I knew I had to become the OT he (and others like him) needed.
Q: What’s your favorite part about working with neurodivergent adults?
A: Adulting is hard. Seriously, let’s be real: Adulting feels like too much almost all of the time. After years of working with kids, I started asking myself, “What happens when these kids grow up?” Turns out, not enough. So I made the shift to adults. My goal? Build an OT clinic to help adults navigate life on their terms, not society’s unrealistic bs expectations.
Q: What can people find you doing at RCP?
A: A little bit of everything! You’ll find me working directly with clients and managing all the details behind the scenes that come with running a clinic and supporting both our clients and clinicians. Basically, I’m an OT who wears all the hats.
Q: What’s one of your biggest sensory challenges, and how do you handle it?
A: I’m an HSP, so things like sounds, bright lights, and crowded spaces absolutely wreck me. My strategy? Avoid them at all costs. 😂 But seriously, when I can’t avoid them, I prioritize plenty of downtime to recover. Like, a lot of downtime.
Q: Tell us about your favorite leisure occupations.
A: Nature is where I feel most at peace. Whether I’m collecting rocks, paddle boarding, skiing, hiking, or just sitting by the ocean, being surrounded by trees, mountains, or waves always feels like home. 🌲🏔️🌊
