This one goes out to all the pregnant mamas. π
β¨story time β¨
The office gets an email from a mom 36 weeks pregnant with a transverse baby a day before I stop taking new patients at the office (since we were also 36 weeks at the time with Baby Havens!)
Thankfully sheβs able to make it in the very next day! She explains that she is scheduled for an ECV to manually try and flip the baby in two weeks. I told her that is plenty of time, but weβre gonna have to put in some work before then. She was ready and so was I! I mean, this is a Webster Chiroβs bread and butter after all. π
I explained to her that we will do everything possible, but sometimes baby wonβt turn and she should be prepared for that possibility as well. By decreasing torsion on the uterus and working on her pelvis here at the office and doing her work at home, we are giving her and her sweet girl the best opportunity to get head down and ready to go!
After 5 visits mom was feeling great! She hadnβt noticed any changes in babyβs position (and I could tell she was sad) but she felt as though if she had to go through the ECV procedure, sheβs glad she was well adjusted going into it. (Proud chiro moment π₯°)
The day after her 5th visit was her scheduled procedure. This is the email I received that evening:
βHi Vanessa,
Went for the inversion procedure today and baby was head down!! I was in complete shock and so relieved. Had a 3 minute ultrasound and was released from hospital.β
And cue the happy tears π₯Ή
Yβall this is my purpose. This is what I LOVE to do. These moments, these moms, all moms, mean everything to me. Thank you to all the moms out there who have trusted me with their care and the care of their sweet babies. Itβs truly the greatest honor β€οΈ
5 breech/transverse babies in this past year. 5 gone vertex by birth. π itβs amazing what the womanβs body can do when interference is removed. Chiropractic is SO freakin cool.
