The need for people in this field is there.

Ms. Alazayah Depew is a 2025 Tahquamenon Area Schools graduate who will be working towards a bachelor's degree in social work/minor in psychology while attending Northern Michigan University this fall.
Alazayah shared in her scholarship application essay that she is passionate about helping others, and she recognizes the need for more social workers in our community. After receiving her degree, Alazayah plans to move back to the Newberry area where she can share her skills with others.

Alazayah is the recipient of the 2025 Nathan Wesley Seitz Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $5,000, disbursed over her four-year college career.

Nathan's family is full of anticipation that Alazayah will gain the mental-health knowledge she needs to help others in our community. ❤️

A very beautiful unexpected visit from Nathan' friends today. Two years ago today is when we found out Nathan left us, but there isn't a single day that we don't think about him, miss him terribly, and pray for him.
