Why I love doing what I do as a Dermatologist

“I love being a dermatologist because I get to help people with the same skin problems I’ve dealt with my whole life. I’ve had a ton of skin issues and I know how painful it can be. My acne was so bad that it’s left scars on my face and I at times felt embarrassed by it. I’d go see my dermatologist and try to act tough like it didn’t bother me but I was actually really sad over how I looked and how bad it hurt. Even now, sometimes my eczema drives me so crazy, I just want to cry. I know what my patients are going through because their pain is truly my pain. Nothing makes me happier than being able to help others feel comfortable in their skin.” - Dr. Mitchell
