If you didn't know, VERY few communities around the country honor deceased residents and their grieving families in this way. It is a significant privilege we have with our local law enforcement.

The Newberry County Sheriff's Office DOES NOT charge any family for a funeral es**rt. It is the last respects that we pay to a person that is a citizen and a taxpayer. On occasion, we may have an emergency call that will divert our attention, although we will try hard to get there. If someone calls a bereaved family and demands payment for a law enforcement es**rt, this is a SCAM. We do not charge for this service.
