Leigh Ringer has been part of the McSwain-Evans family for over 20 years. She is a licensed Master of Social Work social worker and Coordinator of our aftercare program. She offers emotional support for families grieving the loss of a loved one.Leigh also coordinates our annual Service of Remembrance each November. Leigh and her husband Cecil live in Boiling Springs. She is very active in her church and enjoys travel, music ministry, and missions work. Heath “Pete” Simpson started his career in funeral service with McSwain-Evans Funeral Home on August 10, 1986. Pete is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and is an integral part of the McSwain-Evans family. We thank him for his 39 years of dedicated service to the funeral home and to the families of our community.

Gregory Eugene Evans, owner/manager of McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, was recently elected President of the South Carolina State Board of Funeral Service. The South Carolina State Board of Funeral Service is the regulatory body for funeral directors, funeral homes, and crematories in South Carolina. Evans was appointed to the board by Governor Henry McMaster in 2020. He was re-appointed in 2022 and will serve as President until August of 2025. His father, Gene Evans was also a former President of the State Board, serving from 1986 until 1991. Evans has served the families of Newberry County for over 30 years and has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for 26 years. He and his wife Denise are the parents of 3 children, Hampton, Graham, and Anna Grace.

Due to the loss of power and safety concerns, the visitation and funeral service for Bobbie Wagner will be postponed until next week. The visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024 from 6-8 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2024 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Due to the loss of power and safety concerns , the visitation for Fred Harmon that was scheduled for tonight, will be moved to tomorrow afternoon from 1:30 until 2:30 pm at the funeral home.
