This month, we wear pink not only to raise awareness but to honor the incredible strength of those who have fought, those who continue the fight, and those we hold forever in our hearts. 💕

May we stand together—in hope, in love, and in remembrance.

On Monday, Newberry Memorial Gardens will host committal services for Charles Leopard, former City of Newberry Fire Department Captain and WWII Veteran. Between Noon and 2pm, Fire Department and Military honors will be rendered, and traffic in and out of the cemetery may be effected.

August is Family Fun Month! Too often, families come together only during life’s most difficult moments. This month, we’re reminding you to make time for the joyful ones, too.

Laugh loud. Make memories. Be present. Because togetherness isn’t just for the hard days—it’s for the happy ones too. You won’t regret prioritizing fun family time. 🎉👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

On a visit to JF Hawkins Nursing Home today for their 60th Anniversary of operations, we learned that the beautiful Chapel was built as a result of donations from our very own founder … Otis Whitaker. Very special.

We want to wish our community a peaceful and safe 4th of July. We hope you are celebrating by doing something fun with your family. Today, as we commemorate the red, white, and blue, we also pause to remember those who have served our country and show gratitude for our freedoms.

Our grounds team has been watching this nest for several weeks now … and all four chicks hatched safely!

Killdeer nest in the ground, often up against other objects for safety, such as our bronze and granite memorials.

Special thanks to Scott and the team for sharing this photo and for caring this much!

A scary night at Newberry Memorial Gardens with the loss of our equipment building. Thankfully no one was injured and other than the loss of some equipment and supplies, all is well. Special thanks to the Friendly Fire Department for their rapid response, Newberry County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Foster for being on site, anyone else who assisted, and the person who witnessed the fire and called for help.

And thank you to our client-families as you are patient with us while we clean up the site and rebuild.

Did you know? One of the ways we honor veterans at Newberry Memorial Gardens is to fly the flag in their honor on the day of committal. Special thanks to Woodmen Life for partnering with us on this memorial.
