Heart disease is the number one of killer of both men and women and has been for many years.
Even though we focus on cholesterol testing and treatment, could there be other factors that we should be looking at that we are missing?
We could investigate the cholesterol markers a little deeper. Find out what kind of cholesterol we have, such as the size. Too many small cholesterol particles can prove as a risk factor for heart disease. Inflammation has proven to be a factor of heart disease, often not tested, or treated. Stress is a proven risk factor for cardiovascular events, once again, often not tested or treated. Did you know that hypothyroidism can lead to elevated cholesterol levels, an increased risk for cardiovascular events, increased arteriosclerosis, and is believed to be a contributing factor in 60% of heart attacks?
