Step by Step Mental Health Counseling Step by step mental health counseling services is a small private practice in Newburgh New York.

We offer mental health counseling to adolescents, young adults and adults. We continue to help the people of Orange County and surrounding areas. I am a fully licensed therapist (NY) specializing in adolescents, young adults and family therapy. I provide a variety of psychotherapy services including individual and family therapy. My approach to treatment is eclectic, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Humanistic therapy amongst others. I have also received training in Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative one in which I work together with the client to help them gain understanding of problems they’re facing, to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, or to work towards resolution of a specific issue. Therapy may be long-term or short-term, depending on the nature of the issue and the goals of treatment.

During this difficult time it's important to allow yourself to slow down. Sometimes the hardest thing is just to sit with yourself and do nothing. It's not all about learning new hobbies, learning new languages, learning how to juggle... How about we all learn how to sit still and breathe? I like to set my clients a small attainable daily goal of just doing nothing for a few minutes a day. Sit outside, if it's chilly wrap yourself up in a blanket, if it's rainy, go outside anyway and get wet!

Step by step mental health counseling is a small group private practice located in the town of Newburgh New York. I am transitioning from in-home psychotherapy to this new group practice and offer telehealth services and in-office services. Unfortunately in-home services are no longer offered.
