🌟 Community Spotlight: A Night of Food, Music & Giving in New Windsor, NY! 🌟

On Saturday, March 28, our community came together for an incredible evening of great food, great music, and a great cause! The New Windsor American Legion Post 1796 hosted a crowded fundraiser dinner that raised nearly $10,000 to support Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties’ patients and families.

More than 150 dinners were served, and thanks to generous raffle participation, sponsorships, and donations, it was truly a night to remember.

💙 Special thanks to:
Legion Commander Charlie Baranyai and the main event coordinator Al Favata, along with Christy Favata Fairbanks and Sal Carcolici, who donated all the food for the event! Guests enjoyed heaping plates of penne pasta with marinara or vodka sauce, meatballs, sausage, salad, five flavors of gelato, brownies, and cookies — all delicious!

🎶 As dinner wound down, the tables were moved, the lights dimmed, and guests danced into the night to the sounds of Dr. Magneetoe and The Sugar Beats, two popular local classic rock bands.

🙌 This event wouldn’t have been possible without our volunteers—those working hard in the kitchen, serving meals, handling set-up, and even running the golf cart valet service outside! Hospice Board members hefted tables for set-up and collected money at the door, and attended as happy patron diners.

Kidz4Causes is hosting the Newburgh Voice Contest on June 12, 2026, at the Silk Factory in Orange County, NY, with all proceeds benefiting Friends of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan.

This Hudson Valley event will feature local talent, live performances, and an incredible night of community support.

🇺🇸 Vietnam Veterans Day in Cornwall, NY 🇺🇸

Today, Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties had the honor of hosting a National Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony in Cornwall, NY, at the Cornwall Yacht Club.

Veterans, families, and community members from across Orange County and the Hudson Valley came together for a meaningful morning of remembrance, gratitude, and respect.

This Thank You and Memorial Ceremony recognized those who served during the Vietnam War, including those who were wounded, lost, or went missing.

To every Veteran who joined us, thank you! We are proud to stand beside you and honor the welcome home you have always deserved. 💚
