Happy November! Next month, our agency was selected as the nonprofit partner in the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program! Our organization will receive $1.00 for each $2.50 reusable community bag sold during the month of December at 1429 Route 300, Newburgh NY!

Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragic incident; family, first responders and victims 💙

36 years ago today, many lives changed forever.

Today we pause to remember the lives changed forever on November 16, 1989 by the East Coldenham Elementary School disaster.

We respectfully ask you to remember and say a prayer for the students who died as a direct result of this tragedy - Mark Flanagan, Jennifer Homan, Amy Innis, Joanna Lichtler, Larae Litchhult, Peter Orsino, Charles Scotto, Adam Soltis, and Maria Stuhmer - and the final victim, Rosalie Sbordone, a student who died in a car accident in front of the school four days later.

We also ask you to remember the other people touched by this horrible day: The parents and families of the children, the school staff (who performed so heroically that day), classmates and friends, first responders (firefighters, police and EMS), friends and neighbors.

May God bless us all.

Congratulations to our November member spotlight, Paramedic Nevie Kaan!🍁🚑
Here is what Nevie would like the TONEMS community to know about her:

“I’ve been in EMS for 8 years and a paramedic for 5. I’m officially in my nursing girl era at Mount Saint Mary College with three semesters left (yes, I’m counting). I was part of the first round of paramedics hired at the Town of Newburgh during the ALS transition, and I’m beyond grateful for the people, the purpose, and the unforgettable chaos this job has brought into my life. When I’m not saving lives or studying to save more, you can usually find me exploring new places, lifting heavy things at the gym, or pretending I don’t have another exam coming up. I’m proud of where I started, excited for where I’m headed, and becoming the woman my younger self needed—one shift, one semester, and one iced coffee at a time.”

This morning our crews participated alongside multiple agency’s in Garnet Hospital’s MCI Drill. This drill allowed us to simulate a large scale incident and coordination with the hospital staff. We were able to go through arrival, triage and appropriate patient care 🚑🩺🏥

Partnering for Plates, its time for our Holiday Food Drive! 🥫

This year, our agency teamed up with Town of Newburgh PBA to host our annual food drive. The drive will run from November 9th until November 30th.
