Still think lifting weights will make you too ‘bulky’? 👀 That myth is holding a lot of women back from getting stronger, healthier, and more confident. The truth might surprise you. Megan Gibson breaks this down on our latest blog post!

Read here:

I remember playing sports in middle school and high school and being afraid to lift weights because I didn’t want to “look manly.” I’d heard over and over again that girls who lifted would lose their figure and start to look like boys. As a physical therapist with a background in exercise sc...

In healthcare, you often hear the phrase “patients come first.” And of course they should. But at RPI, we believe something important comes before even that. Great patient care starts with taking care of the people providing it. Physical therapy is a relationship-based profession. It requires li...

No one tells you that parenting might make you a better leader…But somewhere between the chaos and the bedtime routines, you start learning lessons that show up in every part of your work.

One of our PTs, Morgan Weinzapfel, wrote about the leadership skills parenting taught her—none of which came from PT school.

No one warns you that parenting might make you better at your job. They warn you about the sleep deprivation. The messes. The emotional breakdowns over the wrong snack or the wrong color cup. What they don’t mention is that somewhere between morning chaos and bedtime routines, you quietly start le...

Spring is around the corner!⚾ Despite all the snow and ice 🥶, a lot of baseball players have already started throwing in preparation for the upcoming season. Jake Sullivan, one of our PTs that specializes in overhead athlete rehabilitation, offers insight on how to protect the arms of youth baseball players. Give it a read, and share with a friend to help keep this upcoming season injury-free! 💪

Injuries in baseball players are on the rise, there is no arguing that. One of the more alarming things I’ve noticed, however, is that the injuries are now starting at a younger age. In fact, UCL reconstruction (‘Tommy John’ surgery) in athletes ages 15–19 has increased dramatically over the...
