How are you taking care of yourself?

When your period starts, you receive a BFN after the TWW, when you get an invite for another baby shower, how are you taking care of yourself?

Do you need alone time?
A friend to listen?
Do you have sensory needs?
Do you need to connect with your partner?

Sometimes you need a big, fat, ugly cry and sometimes you don't have the time and space to meet your needs fully.

It's SO important to create the space to consider what you need and meet that need as best as you can, when you can.

If you're finding yourself wanting more support, I offer Telehealth fertility support to clients located in California.

Take the bath.
Make the call.
I'm here when you're ready.

Choosing to conceive with donor gametes creates a ripple effect.

Not only are you adding a member to your family but it impacts the parent(s) feelings, openness, trust and so much more.

It's entirely probable that the donor conceived person will have at least one genetic sibling. At the very least, they will have a half sibling via from the donor themself.

It impacts the donor and their future, impacting their family as well.

And, most of all, donor conception impacts the donor conceived person that is created in this process.

Reputable fertility clinics require consultation with a therapist specializing in fertility to provide education to prospective parents before they begin their donor conception journey. Making an informed decision to move forward, and HOW, is a crucial step in the donor conception process.

I offer psychoeducational consultations for Intended Parents in California. Contact me to schedule your appointment today!

Are you familiar with the unintended consequences of IVF?

A major one is: remaining embryos. What do you do with embryos that remain after you have completed your family?

Fertility patients are typically SO consumed with creating all the embryos that they can, while they can, that they don't consider feelings that they might about about any remaining embryos, after treatment and after their children are born.

A reproductive therapist can provide invaluable education AND emotional support while you are trying to conceive and throughout your pregnancy.

Have you created your support system yet?

In donor conception, a Constellation is all parties involved in the process. This typically includes:
✨ Parents (Social/Raising Parents)
✨ Donor
✨ Donor's children/family
✨ Fertility doctor, nurse coordinator
✨ Agency
✨ Donor conceived person
✨ DC siblings - genetic siblings in other families
✨ DC siblings families

While they are all part of the same story, each person's experience and feelings will vary.

How do YOU fit into the constellation?

Sometimes you just have to put one foot in front of the other and do it, even if you're terrified. Sometimes that's the only way that it will get done.

Do the scary thing:
Look for a fertility doctor.
Return to treatment after the first, or second, or third try didn't work.
Reserach 3rd Party Reproduction.
Call a therapist.

Sometimes, doing something outside of your comfort zone is the only way forward.
