A strategy I learned at Duke Integrative Medicine when it comes to nutrition (esp. while traveling) is PLAN AHEAD.

I’m taking a half day to plan meals for a family road trip. Recreating healthier and more cost effective options can be a great way to stay on track over the Holidays.🌲

I will share more of what I’m packing for us and the thought process behind it.

I was so proud of myself for quitting caffeine about a year ago. It helped me fall asleep quicker at night and got rid of anxious jitters during the day. ☕️

Flash forward a year and one baby later coffee makes it SO much easier to get through my day. Having zero guilt about relying on coffee again during this phase. Loosing sleep at night with a newborn is no joke. 👶🏼

The point of this paragraph? It’s okay to change with the different seasons of our life and not always be so hard on ourselves. 🖤

I used to be so disappointed when i’d open a bag of trail mix and half the bag was Brazil nuts. BUT turns out when consumed in moderation they have TONS of potential health benefits. 🌰

Here are just a few:

• Packed with antioxidants
• Contains selenium which can be good for heart health
• Can support thyroid function
• Contains calcium

Now, Brazil nuts have become one of my go-to health snacks. {Be sure to do your own research and consult your doctor before consuming}
