Avita of Newburyport is a Northbridge Assisted Living Community located adjacent to Anna Jacques Hospital in picturesque Newburyport, MA just minutes from I-95. Opened in January 2015 Avita of Newburyport is a dedicated memory care community. The name, Avita, which translates to “For Life,” was inspired by our desire to create a safe and fulfilling environment where nurturing caregivers recognize each resident as a special and unique individual. Just because an individual may suffer from physical challenges or memory impairment does not mean they have lost their spirit. Our goal is simple – to make a positive difference in people’s lives by creating a special place where residents can thrive and families can have peace of mind. Avita of Newburyport has two sister communities – one in nearby Needham, MA and one in Westbrook, ME.

We are so grateful for the amazing intergenerational programs that bring our community together. A Montessori school welcomed us with a fun craft to bond over, followed by singing and shared smiles. In the afternoon, we welcomed a Girl Scout troop who brought sweet treats, homemade ornaments, cheerful smiles, and created a beautiful window display. Moments like these remind us how special it is to connect across generations.

This weekend, our community was wrapped in the gentle warmth of the holiday season. We continued decorating together, adding little touches of sparkle and cheer—and we’ll keep building the magic day by day as we move closer to the holidays.

Residents crafted gingerbread men with care, and enjoying their sweet creations brought plenty of smiles, laughter, and cozy moments. We were also treated to a heartfelt concert from the students of Governors Academy. Their music filled the room like a warm embrace, bringing comfort, connection, and joy.
