Kelly Randermann will be at the Senior Center on January 14th from 12:00–1:00 PM to lead a discussion about Hypertension (High Blood Pressure).

Hypertension is a common condition where the force of your blood against your artery walls is consistently too high. It can increase your risk for heart disease, stroke, and other health issues, but lifestyle changes and proper management can make a big difference.

You can participate on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Upton Clinic from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM.

⏰ Please note:
• Wellness Wednesdays are not available on holidays
• A 12-hour fast is recommended prior to labs

Some of our Acute Care nursing staff recently had the opportunity to take part in Obstetrical education provided by CCMH OB Nurse, Cassandra Hurley. 👶🩺

The training included four different classes:
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – focused on caring for newborns immediately after delivery
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Program – covering Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab work, and Emotional Support for sick infants after birth
• OB Emergency Training (offered twice) – preparing nurses to respond to potential maternal emergencies following delivery

While Weston County Health Services does not regularly deliver babies, this specialized training ensures our acute care staff are prepared and confident in the event of an emergency delivery. Thank you to Cassandra Hurley for sharing her expertise and helping our team continue to provide safe, high-quality care for our community. 💙
