Norma Jean McClure, 96, of Bakersville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her residence.

Norma was born January 23, 1929, in Bakersville to the late William and Edith (Degen) Regula. She was a member of Bakersville Community Church, and was a lady’s aide. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers, and she always liked to stay busy. Norma was a caregiver to any family member that needed care, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children Robert (Patty) McClure, Deena Gray, and Cynthia McClure; her grandchildren Heidi Worthington, Tristan Mizer, Ember Bryant, Andy Gray, and Danny Gray; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her special great nephew and niece Dylan and Brooklyn Neighbor; and many other family and friends.

Along with her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert L. McClure who passed away in 2013; her sisters Luella John and Caroline Wolfe; and her son-in-law Dan Gray.

A visitation will be held at Bakersville Community Church from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, October 6, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rod McBride officiating. Norma will be laid to rest beside her husband in Bakersville Union Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the team at Ohio’s Hospice for their love and care they gave Norma.

Mark Fisher, 73, of Newcomerstown, passed away Wednesday October 1, 2025 at his home. He was born March 19, 1952 in Stark County to the late Sydney Glenn Fisher and Wilma June (Gowins) Fisher.

Mark was a 1970 graduate of Hoover High School. He went on to work at the Hoover Company in North Canton from which he retired after over thirty years of service. He was also a volunteer Firefighter with North Canton for many years. Mark was an avid carpenter and woodworker, he loved to fish and watch the Ohio State Buckeyes and he had a passion for cars and the outdoors.

Mark is survived by his three sons, Mark David Fisher, Timothy S. Fisher, and Nathan D. Fisher; many grandchildren; his sister, Helen Milbrodt, and special friend, Pam Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Fisher and grandson, Gavyn Fisher.

A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date.

Julia Lynn Tomon, 61, of Fresno, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at her son’s home.

Julia was born August 11, 1964, in West Virginia to the late Johnny and Leona (Kirk) Bryant. Julia worked as an STNA at Riverside Manor for over twenty years before starting a job at Amberwood Manor as a therapy assistant. She then worked at Guernsey Residential, and then finished her working career at Annin Flag Company. Julia loved spending time with her family, shopping, and sewing. She enjoyed going to the beach, and collecting plants and flowers.

She is survived by her loving husband Daniel Tomon; her children Brian (Harriett) Little, Melissa (Joshua) Harvey, and Kayla (Ryan) Wise; her grandchildren Dylan (Hunter), Gavin (Leah), Cabot, Briley, Dawson, Joshua, Destiny (Audry), Evelise, Raegan, Baylee; her great-grandchildren Truitt, Hank, and Emerson; her siblings Bill (Kim) Bryant, Tim (Debbie) Bryant, Leroy (Kathy) Bryant, Bert (Angie) Bryant, Patty Meek, Barbara Bryant, and David (Shawn) Bryant; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Along with her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Doreen Tomon.

A visitation will be held at Addy Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Bert Bryant officiating. Per Julia’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place.

Elizabeth Shannon Hoover, 92, of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025 at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Shannon was born February 17, 1933, in Washington County, Pennsylvania to the late James and Margaret Donaldson. In 1953, Shannon married the love of her life John Hoover, who preceded her in death. They filled their life together with a loving family, country living, and attending Salem Evans Creek Lutheran Church.

Shannon loved Arizona, and had special memories traveling there with her husband on the motorcycle and later in life with her daughter on a cross-country train ride. Shannon enjoyed reading, was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, and enjoyed spending time outdoors watching the birds. She loved being with her grand kids and great-grandkids and they have fond memories of taking walks, making mud pies, and being spoiled with cookies and her legendary dippy eggs.

She is survived by her children Vickie Hoover, and Robin (Karl) Hunkele; her grandchildren Tina (Mike) Maxhimer, Angie (Todd Dapoz) Hoover, Deidre (Kurt) Waller, and Lori Wells; her “Generic” grandchildren Joshua (Melanie) Hunkele, and Meghan Hunkele; her great-grandchildren Jordan, Madison, Mackenzie, Ava, Delaney, Lola, and Reis; her step-great-grandchildren Damon and Jonathan; her great-great grandchildren Jayden and Salem. Shannon is also survived by her niece Betty Jane; her step-brother Carl (Rose) Upvall; and many members of her husband John’s family. She will also be dearly missed by close friends Jim and Jen Connor and Ed Canfield.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of forty years John Hoover; siblings Lois Donaldson, Jip Donaldson, Sam Donaldson, Dick Donaldson, and William Donaldson; and her beloved dog “Sparky”.

A visitation will be held at Addy Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Shannon will be laid to rest beside her husband John at Salem Evans Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Karen Lynn Jones, 66, of Coshocton, passed away at Genesis Hospital surrounded by loved ones on Sunday September 21, 2025, in Zanesville. She was born on November 17, 1958 in Coshocton, to the late Francis "Mickey" Hogan and Nancy (Buckmaster) Mercer. She worked in flag production at Annin. Karen loved to crochet in her younger years and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Hope (Teddy) Archer of Coshocton, Sheila (Lance) BordenKircher of Coshocton, and Katrena Jones of Columbus; grandchildren, Tegan, Tanner, Toren, Oaklynn, Ava, and Kylee; siblings, Danny (Pam) Hogan of Dover, Mark (Mandy) Hogan of Zanesville; brother-in-law, Mike Sears of Sherrodsville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Sears of Sherrodsville; and her fur baby, Sugar. Grace E. Dulaney, 82, of Newcomerstown, passed away at home on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Newcomerstown. She was born April 15, 1943 in Newcomerstown, to the late Harry and Glenna (Hinton) Kehl. Grace was a 1961 Newcomerstown High School graduate. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked out of her home for Kurz Kasch. First of all, she loved her Lord and Savior. She loved gardening and music, and collecting lighthouses. She enjoyed crafting and was also a huge Cleveland Guardians fan. Grace frequently used to make and gift wedding cakes. She was also a member of the Christ Methodist Church of Newcomerstown. On June 16, 1961 she married Orval "Bunk" Dulaney Jr who passed away on August 23, 2023. Grace is survived by her children, Teresa (Jim) Tufford, Steve (Denise Laizure) Dulaney, and Beth (John) Scott; her grandchildren, Dirk Williams, Brock (Krystin Raach) Williams, C**t (Chelsea Watson) Tufford, Ashton Tufford, Lexie (JB) Stahl, Austin Dulaney, Amelia Scott and Leanna Scott; great-grandchildren, Chloe Tufford, Silas Smeyres, Channing Tufford, Estelle Smeyres, Elise Tufford, JB3 Stahl, Leilani Stahl, and Asher Stahl; bonus son, Kevin Scarbrough; sister, Peggy Shook; and special friend, Flo Froelich. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Nina Rotruck, Donnie and Ronnie Kehl. Audrey Ruby (Hashman) Renner, 93, of Avon Park, FL, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2025, after a brief illness.

Audrey was born September 21, 1931, in Jackson Township, Guernsey County, OH to the late Melvin W. and Etha L. (Ruby) Hashman. She was a 1949 graduate of Newcomerstown (Ohio) High School, and later went on to graduate from beauty school in Columbus, OH. Following graduation, she worked a short time as a beautician in Cambridge, OH. On September 21, 1952, Audrey married Wayne R. Renner, who passed away on April 14, 2006, after 53 years of marriage. In 1959, Audrey and Wayne moved from Stone Creek, OH to Avon Park. They enjoyed traveling overseas and cruising the Caribbean Islands with their long-time friends. Audrey was very outgoing and would talk to anyone. She had a soft spot in her heart for those less fortunate. Cats were her weakness as she would tend to the strays in the neighborhood. Wayne often joked that if he were to be reincarnated, he wanted to come back as one of Audrey’s cats as they were treated better than him. Audrey was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Sebring, FL. She is survived by four nieces and two nephews, and special friends Donald and Mary Loy and Joy Ramsey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Robert L. and Jane M. Hashman, sister-in-law Doris Witt, and one nephew.

A very special thank you to Donald, Mary, Joy, Kenna, and Jade, Audrey’s hospice nurse, for taking such good care of her.

In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. At a later date, a private graveside service will occur at Coshocton (Ohio) Memory Gardens.

Debora Taggart, 68 of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Riverside Manor.

Debora was born October 3, 1956, in Akron to the late Irvin and Frankie (Snodgrass) Kramer. Debora loved turtles and frogs, and enjoyed watching football, baseball, and game shows. She was a very friendly person who loved everyone, and everyone loved her. The best part of her day was hearing from her two sons and knowing that they would always be there for Jerry.

She is survived by her loving husband Jerry Taggart; her children Joe Konkle (Mandy Jarman) and Jim (Karen) Konkle; her grandchildren Sam, Tyler, Kara, Gabbie, Kameron, and Maddy; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings Jerry and Mark (Sherri) Kramer.

Per her wishes, a cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Debora will be laid to rest at Deersville Cemetery.

B. Carol McPherson, 92, of Stonecreek, died peacefully Wednesday September 3, 2025.

She was born October 18, 1932 to the late Pearl Bryan and Clara Lucille (Newman) Miller.

As a devoted homemaker, Carol believed in working hard every day, always keeping busy caring for her home and family. Her children recall times of their mother singing as she worked around the home and family celebrations together, and she loved playing hide and seek with them. On March 5, 1964, Carol married Russell E. McPherson. The couple worked together for many years on their farm caring for the many animals, gardening, preserving their crops and many other tasks needed around the farm. Carol took great pride in caring for her various plants, which was a natural talent. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and her many beautiful flower beds. Any plant touched by her hand was sure to thrive. Carol, an avid lover of animals, was never found to be without dogs by her side.

Carol is survived by her beloved Chow Roxie; her sister Hope Enos (Gary); her son John J. Malloy (Cindy); her daughters Kathleen Malloy and Linda (Paul) Boyd; her grandchildren Kenneth, Michael, Daniel, David, Matthew, Teresa, Thomas, Jenifer, Anna, Caitlin, Rhonda, Scott, and Christopher; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and twenty-one great-great grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents C. Lucille Miller and Pearl Bryan LePort; husband Russell McPherson; siblings Jack Miller, Tommy LePort, Naomi Rinehart, Libby LePort and Ralph Miller. Carol is also preceded in death by her children William Malloy, Nancy Lorenz and Madeline Malloy.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 9 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Addy Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Mark Gross officiating. Carol will be laid to rest at Stonecreek Cemetery. If you wish to donate in her honor please do so to your local Humane Society.

Shirley Ann Coker Kerr, 89, of Cary, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024.

She was born in her family home in Newcomerstown, Ohio on August 17, 1935, to Odell Chandler Coker and Thomas Coker. She was married to Col. William Byron Kerr, US Army (Dec.) for 38 years until his death in 1994. Following her graduation from Newcomerstown High, she added to her education by receiving a B.A. in Human Services Administration at Antioch University; attending the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University; and participating as a Hopkins Fellow in Applied Behavioral Science in Organizational and Community Systems at Johns Hopkins University. Shirley also had a long and varied career as a US Army officer’s wife, and later as an administrator and management consultant for Colorado Women’s College; Graduate School, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture; United Way, United Black Fund; and the Social Security Administration. She was a member of Newcomerstown Village council for four years and then campaigned for mayor in 1999. Shirley expressed her dedication for lifting others by running an informal ‘finishing school’ for the young women of Newcomerstown’s predominantly Black neighborhood of Clow Avenue.

Shirley had a passion for travel and learning about other cultures and got to experience both during her 17 moves over 21 years moving the family to Bill Kerr’s various Army assignments all over the US, Puerto Rico, and Germany. She traveled to China as a Citizen Ambassador for People-to-People Contract Management Delegation. She shared her passion for interior design and finer international products by opening the store Something Special Gift Shoppe in Newcomerstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Byron Kerr; parents Odell Chandler Coker, and Thomas Coker; her brother MSgt. Thomas Dale Coker, USAF, Ret.; and her sister Jacqueline Coker Hauser. She is survived by her eldest daughter Leah Marie Kerr; and sons William Byron Kerr, Jr. (Tanyen) and Jeffrey Eugene Kerr (Amber Renee). She is also survived by her grandchildren Anthony Eugene Kerr (Seattle); Taslim Maya Kerr (Charlotte); and Talia Simone Kerr (Cary).

A memorial for Shirley Kerr will be on Saturday, Dec. 7 for family and close friends. Flowers may be sent to the Brown Wynne funeral home.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 11 at 2:00 pm at West Lawn Cemetery.

Victoria Sue Musselman, 64 of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025 at Genesis Hospital.

Victoria was born January 21, 1961, in Orville, Ohio to the late Darrel and Mercedis (Winters) McIntire. She enjoyed cleaning and gardening. Most of all, she loved her grandkids and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband William Musselman; her children Jason (Joeleen) Musselman, and Danielle (Gene) Howell; her grandchildren Kaden Howell and Mia Howell; her siblings Donald McIntire, Deborah (James) Hickman, and Richard (Kathy) McIntire; and her nieces and nephews Alisha McIntire, Justin Hickman, Dustin Hickman, Marlayna McIntire, and Evan McIntire.

Per Victoria’s wishes, a cremation will take place. There are no scheduled services at this time.

Eleanor Toth, 90 of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025 at Union Hospital.

Eleanor was born May 4, 1935, in New Jersey to the late Emil and Cornelia (Redyke) Pillé. On July 20, 1974 she married Lewis Harold Toth II who passed away on July 28, 2025. She was a member of Shepherds Christian Assembly of Coshocton, Ohio. Eleanor loved to crochet, send cards to her friends and family, and watch old movies.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Linda) Morgan, Melody Morgan-Kozlowski, Cheryl (Michael) Carr, Harold McKinney, and Michael (Beth) McKinney; daughter-in-law, Patty Larson; sisters Carol Osbourne of Lodi, Ohio and Charlotte Taylor of LaCrosse, Virginia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Robin Tellinghuisen and Dwight Larson; and her brothers-in-law James Osborn and Robert Taylor.
