The need for new volunteers is great at Newfoundland Area Ambulance.

If you’ve ever thought you’d like to learn life-saving skills and serve your community the time is now!

An EMT class is scheduled to begin September, 26 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.

Newfoundland Area Ambulance is offering full scholarships for any individual who commits to a year of volunteering with us.

⛈️ With heavy rain forecast across much of PA today, remember these tips to stay safe on the roads:

• Never drive through flooded roadways. It only takes 12" of rushing water to carry away most cars.

• Do not drive past barricades or barriers blocking the road.

• Always obey warning signs about flood conditions.

• Follow all detours put in place for your safety.

• Stay alert to water on the roadways.

• If you can’t see the road under water, turn around don’t drown!

As you may have seen in our over-the-top video from yesterday, Newfoundland Area Ambulance has put a new vehicle into service. This EMS Squad vehicle is an all-wheel-drive 2023 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, equipped with a full complement of medical supplies that will enable Newfoundland EMS to get a trained responder to emergencies ahead of the responding ambulance to start evaluation and care as soon as possible.

Newfoundland Area Ambulance would like to thank Koch 33, Marty’s L.A. Auto Service, Steve’s Sign Works, JB Graphics, EMS of Northeastern Pennsylvania and The Office of the State Fire Commissioner for their work and assistance in bringing this plan to reality.

Newfoundland Area Ambulance is proud to announce that our own Roger Stevenson was honored by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council as the BLS Practitioner of the Year. This is a great honor and we are all very proud of his tireless work.
