True or false: older buildings don’t need to be accessible. False! But it’s complicated…

The ADA isn’t a building code – it’s a civil rights law, and older facilities are often required to be accessible to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate. With the help of the ADA Checklist, you make a survey of your facility and identify priorities for improvement. Find it at https://www.adachecklist.org/checklist.html

Date correction! We’re honored to be a sponsor of another opportunity to – New Britain’s 17th Annual Ability Walk and Roll in Walnut Hill Park. The festivities begin at 5pm on Wednesday, July 23, with an ADA Proclamation from Mayor Stewart, followed by a one-mile walk/roll around the park. The event also features prizes, entertainment, food, and over 50 information booths displaying products and services for people with disabilities.
