The FDA is removing "black box" warnings from many hormone replacement therapy (HRT) products for menopause, reversing a decision from the early 2000s. This change follows a review that concluded the earlier warnings, which cited risks like breast cancer, heart disease, and stroke, were misleading and overstated. The FDA is updating labels to provide more specific and nuanced safety information for different types of HRT and will remove the warning regarding the "lowest dose for the shortest duration" recommendation.
