Since announcing the launch of our new weight management program, we have received a high volume of inquiries and requests for additional information. We would like to take this opportunity to provide clear and accurate details about both our practice and this program.
First and foremost, we are a primary care practice dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages. We work diligently to help patients access resources, treatments, therapies, and medications, particularly when availability may be limited by insurance restrictions or cost.
Through our work in primary care, we recognized a significant need within our patient population for more accessible and affordable weight loss treatment options. In response, we developed our weight management program to help address this care gap.
To ensure our weight management program reflected the same high standards of care we provide in our primary care practice, we conducted extensive research into the most effective and evidence-based approaches to sustainable weight loss. This process included reviewing clinical guidelines, evaluating services and treatment options, interviewing multiple compounding pharmacies, and thoroughly evaluating their products and protocols. We also consulted with our medical director and malpractice insurance provider to ensure compliance, safety, and quality.
The result is a comprehensive, medically supervised weight management program built on a collaborative model of care with partnerships for medication management, behavioral therapy, and nutritional counseling, along with close clinical monitoring through regular weigh-ins, weekly in-office injections, and quarterly laboratory testing.
As part of our medication management approach, we have partnered with a compounding pharmacy to offer more affordable options for compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide. This pharmacy does not use “research-grade” compounds and instead uses FDA-registered and approved ingredients, that meet strict regulatory standards for quality and intended use. Additionally, the pharmacy adheres to rigorous standards for sterility, quality assurance, and efficacy, including regular third-party testing and audits to ensure FDA compliance and patient safety.
We have also partnered with a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in disordered eating to provide behavioral therapy, as well as a registered dietitian to support patients with sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes.
Our goal in offering this program is to expand access to safe, medically supervised weight management for patients who may not otherwise have these options. We believe this program reflects the level of medical oversight, safety, and individualized support that our patients deserve.
If you have any questions, we encourage you to contact our office directly. We are always happy to provide additional information and discuss whether this program may be an appropriate option for your health goals.
