Sometimes the people who end up in birth work are the ones who have been told they’re “too sensitive.”

Too aware of the energy in a room.
Too affected by what other people are feeling.
Too tuned in.

But in a birth space, that sensitivity becomes something powerful.

The ability to notice the subtle emotional shifts… to sense when someone is starting to doubt themselves… to see the partner who wants to help but doesn’t know how… to quietly step in and steady the room.

That kind of awareness can make someone feel truly seen during one of the most vulnerable and transformative days of their life.

As a birth doula, no two days look the same. That’s the beauty of this work!

One moment I’m on a zoom call coaching my clients as they prepare for birth.

The next, I’m at a client's house for a prenatal visit, practicing comfort measures and building trust.

And sometimes, I’m heading out in the middle of the night to hold space, offer steady support, and walk alongside a family as they welcome their baby.
