Today, was the commissioning of the AED located at the Newnan House of Pickleball (HOP). A partnership between City of Newnan Leisure Services and Newnan CPR & AED. So glad to install this life-saving device (plus 15 doses of Naloxone in the same cabinet) at the Pickleball complex. Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death for Americans (particularly over 35). Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the U.S., the SFIA estimates has grown by 311% over 3 years. Also, SFIA says the average age of "Core" players (playing at least 8 times per year), is 47.9. That is the highest age for any sport, including golf. Physical exertion over age 35, even though that is a MUST for older people, carries a risk of heart attack and cardiac arrest.

Do you like to help others? That REALLY need your help! Here is an excellent opportunity,

We are in awe of how God brought the right people at the right time together yesterday to help make it possible for a local woman who was being trafficked in our community get the help she needed to start a new life.

Today, she begins a new chapter - one of healing, restoration, and possibility.

THANK YOU to those who helped make this possible!

1) Local community members who attended our launch last week were empowered to identify the signs of trafficking and reported it.
2) Local law enforcement followed up on the report and were NOT WILLING TO GIVE UP when it took longer than expected to locate the victim.
3) Non-profit partners in the community were alerted to also be on the lookout as law enforcement continued the search for her. They were ready and called in law enforcement when the victim and her trafficker showed up at a facility.
4) Law enforcement responded and a representative from She's My Sister was able to help with advocacy.
5) A safe house was located for the victim and she was supported and protected as she took the first few steps toward her new life.
