Taco Tuesday…🌮 but nacho style!

Looking for a quick and easy dinner with little to no dishes? Try Taco Nachos.

🟢Simply put corn tortilla chips on a baking sheet and add beans, peppers, onions with some Herbivore Bites Taco Seasoning 🧂to bake for 10-12 minutes at 350F.
🔵Once done, allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before topping with cabbage, tomato, cilantro, avocado and lime juice.

Adventures of Baking & Pastry School at with - Semester 2 Week 16 👨‍🍳

🍰Baking II - This week the class wrapped up the class and cleaned the Baking II kitchen lab followed by group photos.

🍞Artisan Bread - This week the class wrapped up the class and cleaned the Artisan Bread kitchen lab. This included oiling tables and wrapping kitchen equipment.

Adventures of Baking & Pastry School at with - Semester 2 Week 15 - FINALS WEEK 👨‍🍳

💰Food & Beverage Cost Management - This week the class took their final exam.

🍮Baking II - This week the class took their final exam. Their in-person practical exam consisted of making a Pavlova Plated Dessert with multiple components. This dessert included a pavlova (meringue that is crunchy on the outside, yet soft and yummy on the inside), which was topped wiht macerated strawberries, chocolate cremeux, chocolate crumbs and whipped cream!

🍞Artisan Bread - This week the class took their final exam. Their in-person practical exam consisted of making Pain De Champagne Bread - one batard and one boules. Mitch chose to make the Chocolate/Cherry bread, so the bread was alittle sweeter, almost like a dessert bread.

Next week is the LAST WEEK of classes! 🎓

Adventures of Baking & Pastry School at with - Semester 2 Week 14 👨‍🍳

💰Food & Beverage Cost Management - This week the class finished learning about income statements and budget before going over the final exam study guide.

🍰Baking II - This week the class had the opportunity to assist with Honors Night. The students finished prepping desserts including tres leches cake, brownies, almond cake with lemon chiboust and raspberry/blueberry boochies. They made almost 1000 desserts, which was a great experience into catering.

🍞Artisan Bread - This week the class learned about decorative dough. Each student created an art piece (cornucopia centerpiece with birds) while reviewing over next week’s final exam. Mitch used eagles, Sunny and Gizmo, from as his inspiration!

Adventures of Baking & Pastry School at with - Semester 2 Week 13 👨‍🍳

💰Food & Beverage Cost Management - This week the class continued learning about Revenue Management.

🍮Baking II - This week the lecture class learned about meringue, custards and gelatin. The lab class made an array of desserts including pastry dough, lemon boochie, lemon chiboust, brownies, and more for next week’s Honor Night. The Baking II class will be serving these sweet treats. They also played with fondant and created fondant characters. (Mitch made a hamburger).

🥯Artisan Bread - This week the class baked no fold breads - pitas and bagels. Mitch also submitted his bonus bread project which involved altering a class recipe and baking the new recipe. His bread - Vermont Sourdough batard - turned out delicious!
