Porcelain Veneers aren't supposed to make you look like a different person. They are supposed to look like they are your teeth, but just better.

The goal isn’t a “copy-and-paste” smile, oversized teeth, or a look that feels unfamiliar. It’s subtle refinement: better shape, brighter tone, balanced symmetry — all while still looking completely you.

The best veneers blend seamlessly with your natural features, facial structure, and personality. When done right, people shouldn’t ask “Did you get veneers?” — they should wondering how you look so refreshed.

I love when my patients come in for post ops and they tell me "nobody knows I got my teeth done but I've been getting so many compliments on how great I look."

That’s the power of a natural smile design: your teeth, just elevated.

This is life changing!

This patient came to our office with broken teeth wanting to just fix the chips in the front.

Unfortunately the position of her teeth wouldn't allow for those chipped teeth to be fixed- they would just continue to break. If you look closely you can see even her teeth in the sides were broken.

Teeth don't just break. There's a reason for it and if you don't address the actual cause- they will continue to break- which was the case with her until she came to see us.

She ended up going through our gum infection therapy program, doing Invisalign treatment to get her teeth into a position that would protect them from breaking, and doing porcelain crowns to give her a brand new beautiful smile!

Now she can enjoy this smile for years to come! Love seeing her glowing face at her post op appointment and having her rave about how happy she is.

This was a complicated case with lots of steps and I'm so glad the patient was so dedicated to the process! She is so deserving of having a smile she absolutely loves.

This fabulous patient came in with a dark front tooth- something I see all the time. She felt uncomfortable smiling because her front tooth was so dark.

We changed out the porcelain crown for one that looks natural.

Look at this close up image of her new porcelain crown next to her adjacent teeth. You can see how natural it looks. The color, the shape, the size.

This transformation isn't just for the smile. It translates through the entire face and the confidence the patient has.

This is actually the hardest thing to do in dentistry- to make one front tooth mimics the adjacent teeth. And to make it reflect light the same way the other teeth do- especially when it's a dark, root canaled tooth.

Love doing this type of work and being a part of someone's smile journey.

1️⃣ There are so many products out there that claim to whiten your teeth with all these edited photos and videos that seem so real- just know that whitening products without hydrogen peroxide don't actually whiten your teeth.

2️⃣ A small amount of lip filler DONE RIGHT can enhance your smile and correct asymmetries in your lips. However, when it's over done your top lip actually covers your top teeth more and it ages your smile. The correct way to have filler done is to dissolve it completely and then have it done. Search for someone who is really experienced with lip filler and whose esthetic you like. I think in Newport Beach is a master injector - there are also many others I know that do a beautiful job.

3️⃣ straightening your teeth with Invisalign isn't just for esthetics. It slows down the aging process, helps prevent teeth from breaking, and protects from wear. They are also easier to clean - CLEAN TEETH = HEALTHY TEETH, and helps prevent boneless and gum disease. Most of my Invisalign cases are to give my patients longevity for their teeth. Not for cosmetic reasons

4️⃣ water flossing is INCREDIBLE. love the brand - but it doesn't replace string floss. Do both

5️⃣ dental insurance sucks. They don't care about you. They are in it for themselves. If you break a tooth in February but your maxed out for the year, they will tell you to wait until the following January to have the tooth fixed- by that time you will probably need way more treatment or lose the tooth. If you need 4 cleanings a year (which is the case for most people over the age of 35), they will only tell you to get 2... don't let insurance dictate your treatment. You dentist cares about the health of your gum and bones and teeth- let your dentist dictate treatment.

Some random facts that you might find interesting or useful:

All natural toothpastes without fluoride don't do much. In fact, the point of toothpaste is to deliver fluoride to your teeth. So if you're using a fluoride free toothpaste, you may as well not use toothpaste because it's the act of brushing that disturbs the bacterial biofilms and cleans the teeth. You can remove plaque by brushing with just water, but you lose the fluoride protection that helps prevent decay.

Unfortunately I actually have a big sweet tooth but I am also really disciplined!

I often try to do dentistry on myself and then realize I can't so then I wait for Dr. Maitino to help me lol.

The iO toothbrush is by far the best toothbrush I've ever used. I love all the R&D behind the brush. It's what I use and recommend to all my patients.

Teeth whitening in the office is the fastest and most effective way to actually whiten your teeth. My patients love it and we have created a process in our office to help reduce sensitivity that can come from these treatments. So ask us about them!

Esthetic crown lengthening is a gem of a procedure. If you feel like you have a gummy smile, look into this. We have a board certified periodontist who has written hundreds of reach articles do this procedure at our office. Patients see results immediately and it's truly one of my favorite procedures. Book a consult to discuss this and to see before and after photos of this!

Invisalign: it's really not just for straightening teeth. It's to help keep your teeth for a longer period of time. To prevent wear, gum disease, bone loss, and breakage of teeth. The cosmetic effect of it is an added bonus! I'm going through the treatment myself now and I'm so happy with how it's turning out. Feel free to ask me about my experience!

LOOK CLOSELY AT THIS ONE! ➡️The difference is in the details

This patient had porcelain veneers on her two front teeth that she was really insecure about. Did they look horrible? No- but for years she felt uncomfortable smiling. She felt like they were too bulky.

She wanted to feel comfortable with her smile so we replaced her porcelain veneers with a new set that looks more sleek and natural.

You can see the difference in quality and appearance of the two front porcelain veneers. It really is all the small details at that make all the difference.

I have to say- the best part of this smile makeover is the fact that the patient asked to hug me multiple times once we finished her procedure and told me how much this meant to her. She drove for hours to come to our office and she told us it was so worth it. She said they looked and felt so natural to her! That meant the world to us. It was such an honor to help give you a smile that you feel good about!

We never went to forget today. Our most special moments are the most simple. Spending time together. Sipping on hot chocolate. Watching home alone.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, gratitude, and moments that make you smile—both inside and out. Thank you for trusting me with your smiles this year. Happy Holidays to you and yours.✨🎄

I've spent almost 14 years doing smile makeovers and the thing I hear over and over and over again from my patients is that they wish they did it sooner.

Not because it was about vanity—but because of how much confidence it gave them, how freely they started smiling, and how it changed the way they showed up in everyday moments.

A smile can truly change more than just your teeth.

My passion for creating life changing transformations for my patients is deep. Whether it's 1 porcelain crown in the front for a dark root canaled tooth, or an entire mouth full of porcelain veneers, it never gets old to see a patient smile and feel good about themselves for the first time in years. It never gets old for a patient to hug me and say "thank you- this meant a lot to me."

We pour our heart and soul into the work we do and how we care for our patients and our patients feel that.

If you've been wanting to enhance your smile, just know that you deserve to have a smile that makes you feel confident. And one that you're proud to show off. And we can help you 🤍

Truly life changing smile transformation with porcelain crowns! This patient waited YEARS before having her crowns redone because she was so nervous about how her smile would end up looking.

She didn't like the discoloration she had. She didn't like the shape or size of her crowns, the bulkiness of them, and the black triangles.

It really aged her smile.

She wanted to update her smile to one that was white, but not too white. One that looked natural, but more importantly made her feel confident when she smiled.

We did just that for her! One thing I always say is that when you give someone a smile they love they actually have a more natural smile. Notice the difference in the whole smile from the photos above.

This translates throughout the entire face and brings back youth and vitality - making her look more refreshed than ever!

In this case, just 4 porcelain veneers were used to enhance the teeth that matter most when you smile — refining shape, improving symmetry, and brightening color in a way that still feels completely natural.

Porcelain veneers allow us to correct small chips, uneven edges, discoloration, and subtle imbalances that can quietly affect how someone feels about their smile.
The goal isn’t to look “done.”
The goal is to look refreshed, balanced, and confident.

What I love most about cases like this is how powerful subtle dentistry can be.
When the smile feels more harmonious, patients smile more freely, speak with confidence, and stop hiding parts of themselves they didn’t even realize they were holding back.

Thoughtful dentistry isn’t about changing who you are.
It’s about helping you feel like the best version of yourself.

Cosmetic dentistry is not about “perfect teeth.”
It’s not about chasing the whitest shade.
And it’s definitely not about copying a celebrity smile.

The real truth?
Cosmetic dentistry is about restraint, intention, and responsibility.

Every smile has a story.
Every face has unique proportions.
And the best cosmetic dentistry is the kind you don’t notice—you just notice that the person looks more confident, more relaxed, more like themselves.

There’s a misconception that cosmetic dentistry is fast, superficial, or purely aesthetic. In reality, when done well, it’s deeply technical, highly customized, and rooted in function first. Bite, biology, long-term stability, and facial harmony matter just as much as beauty.

And here’s the part most people don’t realize:
A cosmetic dentist’s job is often to say no more than yes.

No to over-prepping healthy teeth.
No to trends that won’t age well.
No to a smile that doesn’t fit the person wearing it.

The best cosmetic work is conservative.
It protects tooth structure.
It respects the patient’s lifestyle and long-term oral health.

Because confidence isn’t created by perfection.
It’s created by alignment—between function, esthetics, and authenticity.

That’s the truth about cosmetic dentistry.
And it’s why it’s both an art and a responsibility.
