This is an executive that I performed a lower facelift, necklift as well as upper and lower eyelids on ….. 2 1/2 months post surgery. The obvious and most dramatic changes are seen in the side(profile) view, as well as the 3/4 view, where there is a dramatic improvement in the neck angle and jawline definition (resolution of jowls). Essentially, the lower 2/3 of the face, jawline and neck are what I consider the “home run” part of this common combination of procedures that I perform 3 times weekly.
Nonetheless, if one looks closely at the front view, and you know what you’re looking for, I always love the overall improvement of the “architectural changes of aging” from this view…. Going from a more boxy and square shape of the face to a more angular and soft/ more youthful shape.
For the upper 1/3 of this face, most everyone knows that I am not a big fan of brow or forehead lifts(as there can be multiple issues with hair loss and scalp sensitivity, not to mention the “changes in the look” of a patient that we commonly see)….. in this patient, with the technique I used to take excess skin away from the upper eyelids, I was able to create the APPEARANCE of having a brow lift without actually performing one….I created a nice balance and change in overall shape of the upper third of the face without changing the shape of the eyes—- they simply look brighter and more uplifted.
As I always uphold, the shape of the eyes and mouth HAVE to stay the same….. yet I can still create a “dramatically natural” youthful change overall. This is undoubtedly a 15- year “turning back of the clock”, and she’s only 2.5 months post. This result will continue to get better with even more definition of the jawline with time.
