We can’t always control what happens, but we can choose how to respond. 🌱💙

When difficult emotions urge us to withdraw or give up, Opposite Action helps us take steps that reflect our strength and values instead. ✨

Mindfulness is always within reach—it’s just about remembering to come back to the present moment. 🌱💙

Take a breath, pause, and notice what’s here right now. ✨

Your life matters. 💛

Earlier this week, we recognized World Su***de Prevention Day, a reminder during ***dePreventionMonth that hope and help are always within reach.

Having a 📃✅ can provide a sense of control and hope—knowing when to contact 988 or 911 is an essential step. There’s also hope after a su***de attempt and after su***de loss. 🌤️ Recovery is possible, and the right support is out there for YOU. 💞

When people feel valued and respected, they are more likely to seek help and stay connected.

✨Opposite action means doing the opposite of what your emotion is telling you—especially when acting on that urge wouldn’t be helpful.

What is one way you can act opposite to your emotion urge today? 💭

Common Opposite Actions:
😨 Emotion: Fear → Action Urge: Run Away/Avoid → Opposite Action: Approach/don’t avoid
😡 Emotion: Anger → Action Urge: Attack → Opposite Action: Gently avoid, be polite
😔 Emotion: Sadness → Action Urge: Withdraw/isolate → Opposite Action: Get active

💡 Sometimes the best way forward is to do the opposite.

DBT Center of Orange County is offering virtual therapy services!

Given the current situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19), all clinical services will continue on a virtual Telehealth platform. We have taken these steps in a mindful way to ensure that our patients receive excellence in our clinical services in a caring and safe space. Your trust in our services is greatly appreciated as we navigate this unprecedented and challenging time together. We have every confidence that we are prepared and experienced enough to successfully manage the challenges that COVID-19 presents.

VIRTUAL Adult DBT Intensive Outpatient Program offers patients a minimum of 10 hours of services weekly including skills training groups, individual DBT therapy and mindfulness components. We have a morning track from 9am - 12pm as well as an evening track from 5 – 8pm to best meet individual needs. The program is 8 weeks long total. It is offered on a HIPAA compliant platform.
