NATURAL HEALING FOR SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS, SCLERODERMA, GERD, AND AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE | AGAPE NATURAL HEALTH

I have been struggling with Systemic Sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Anxiety, and Stress for about three years now. Systemic Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, has particularly affected me as it causes the body to attack itself. In my case, inflammation of the esophagus, stomach pain, and constant heartburn.

Scleroderma can affect any part of the digestive system, from the esophagus to the re**um.

While I’ve experienced minor GERD since September 2017, it worsened significantly three years ago. I was constantly plagued by heartburn, stomach pain and chest pain, and I found myself burping all day. It began to affect every aspect of my life, from work to relationships. My son took me to urgent care, where the doctor provided me with crutches. In July 2021, at age 70, I underwent a liver CT scan at Saddleback Memorial Hospital. Unexpectedly, the scan also revealed a nodule in my lung. Although the image was unclear—since the scan wasn’t intended for the lung—this fortunate accident led to the discovery of a potentially life-threatening issue.

A month later, in August, I had a dedicated lung CT scan, which showed an 11mm nodule on my lower left lung, roughly the size of a dime. I was deeply concerned it might lead to lung cancer. My doctor advised monitoring its growth over time.

By March 2022, seven months later, my second CT scan revealed that the nodule had grown slightly, from 11mm to 12mm. Although its slow growth suggested it was non-aggressive, I was determined to eliminate it. I chose not to immediately proceed with a follow-up CT-guided biopsy that was recommended by the doctor due to concerns about possible side effects from the procedure. Wanting to avoid chemotherapy, I turned to natural medicine and prayed for guidance to find the right doctor.

That answer came in the form of Dr. Huang at Agape Natural Health in Newport Beach. After researching doctors online, I felt drawn to Dr. Huang, who specializes in acupuncture and herbs. When I was in Kindergarten, my parents noticed my face and legs swell up from water retention. After visiting a doctor, they said I had childhood onset, minimal change nephrotic syndrome.

My mom, being the research-warrior that she is, decided to take me to Agape Natural Health, and commit to a natural medicine regime: very limited sugar and salt in my foods, juicing and clean foods, plus acupuncture and herbs. On April 5, 2024, I went in for a routine screening, fully aware of the importance of regular check-ups due to my history of a benign left breast core needle biopsy and a family history of breast cancer.

But nothing could have prepared me for what came next. On April 19, 2024, an ultrasound core needle biopsy and pathology confirmed I had solid papillary carcinoma in my left breast.

I was devastated—overcome with sadness, fear, anger, and shock because previous routine exams showed benign over years of screenings going back 8 years to 2016. My world felt like it had turned upside down. At the same time, I was experiencing dizziness and extreme fatigue, making everything even more overwhelming.
