Lymphatic massage after liposuction is not optional.
It’s part of getting the best possible results.
So when should you start?
I usually recommend starting 7–10 days after surgery.
Earlier than that can be too painful because the tissues are still inflamed.
Here’s why it matters.
Liposuction temporarily disrupts your lymphatic system. Fluid can get trapped under the skin, which causes swelling, firmness, and sometimes bumps.
Lymphatic massage helps move that fluid out of the treated areas.
That reduces swelling, softens firm spots, and helps the skin reattach smoothly.
How many sessions do you need?
Most patients need 6–10 sessions, and the first 2–4 weeks are the most important.
At minimum, go once a week, more frequently is even better.
This is one of the keys to healing smoothly and getting the best contour possible.
