Fridays are for making TikTok’s. Unsure how to make this one about therapy but I had to jump on this trend 😂.

Gratitude hallelujah

POV: not me trying to process my feelings on 2 sips of water, no sunlight, and pure vibes 😅

therapy is powerful, but it can only take you so far if you’re neglecting your body

so many times we come into session running on empty—no food, no water, no movement, no sunlight—and then wonder why everything feels so heavy

sometimes we have to pause and build a plan just to get back to the basics before we can even do the deeper work

because the truth is… growth doesn’t just happen in the therapy room
it happens in the small, everyday choices outside of it

if you’re not doing the work out there, it can slow down the growth you’re hoping to find in here

start small. be consistent. take care of yourself 🤍

Introducing Helena Shipley, AMFT.
Helena graduated from Vanguard University in 2025 and specializes in working with individuals and couples navigating addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, religious abuse, and teen-related concerns.

She approaches therapy from a psychodynamic and attachment-based perspective, while also integrating evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy when clinically appropriate.

Helena brings a warm, nurturing presence into the therapy room, helping clients feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. She believes that healing begins in a space rooted in unconditional positive regard and empathy, often saying, “People grow best when they feel deeply seen, heard, and accepted without judgment.”

She is currently accepting new clients. (Supervised by Allyson Pelletier LMFT 121609)

What does grooming in the church look like?
Sometimes it looks like “guidance.”
Sometimes it looks like “God’s will.”
Sometimes it looks like secrecy.

I’m sharing my story on a podcast to talk about religious abuse and grooming because I didn’t have language for it back then — only fear and shame.

When your gut tells you something is wrong and you’re gaslit for years into not trusting yourself, that’s part of the abuse too.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.

As a therapist, my job is to listen carefully and understand your story — not to judge it. Every detail helps me support your healing in a thoughtful and compassionate way. This is a judgment-free space.

🌿 If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy… now is the time.
That quiet nudge you’ve been feeling? It’s your heart asking for support, for space to heal, and for someone to walk alongside you.
I’m excited to share that my practice currently has a few low-fee spots open with my skilled associate therapist — making it more accessible to begin (or continue) your journey right now.
Healing doesn’t have to wait for the “perfect” moment. It starts with the brave choice to say yes to yourself today. 💛
DM me or click the link in bio to learn more and see if we’re a good fit. Your future self will thank you.

Gossip is easy. Growth is harder. 🌿✨
It’s tempting to get caught up in what everyone else is saying, but true strength isn’t about defending yourself to the world—it’s about knowing your worth and moving forward anyway. The quieter you get, the more powerful you become. 💛
Focus on your path. Protect your peace. Let the noise fade.

“All jokes aside—I became a trauma therapist because of my own trauma at 19.
No one should feel alone or judged for something that wasn’t their fault.
If you’re carrying that shame, let me say this clearly: it was never your fault.”
