FUT transformation. The goal here wasn’t to recreate a 20 year old hairline, it was to create something natural, age appropriate, and realistic for this patient.

In this case, we established a hairline and added density through the frontal zone while working within the limits of the donor area. Hair restoration is about planning for both today and the future, not using every available graft at once. As we age, some degree of hair thinning is normal. The goal is to create improvement that looks balanced, natural, and still fits the patient over time. A natural result doesn’t always mean maximum density, sometimes it means knowing when to stop.

A lot of new moms are surprised when they start noticing more hair shedding a few months after giving birth.

You might see extra hair in the shower, on your brush, or around your hairline and wonder if something is wrong. In many cases, this type of hair loss is completely normal and is known as postpartum telogen effluvium.

During pregnancy, hormone levels keep many hairs in the growth phase longer than usual. After childbirth, those hormone levels shift back to normal, and many hairs enter the shedding phase at the same time. This is why the shedding can feel sudden and noticeable.

The good news is that for most women, this is temporary and hair growth gradually returns over time. That said, if the shedding feels excessive, lasts longer than expected, or you’re noticing thinning that doesn’t seem to improve, it can be helpful to have it evaluated.

This patient came to us after having a hair transplant done elsewhere that didn’t heal the way he hoped. The hairline was very straight, the grafts looked pluggy, and it didn’t blend well with the rest of his natural hair

When it comes to hair restoration, the hairline is everything. It should be soft, irregular, and designed to fit the patient’s face and existing hair pattern, not just a straight line across the forehead.

In this video, Dr. Yazdan talks through the process of redesigning the hairline and the thought that goes into creating something that will look natural over time. Every angle, every placement, and every graft matters when you’re correcting previous work.
