If you haven't seen this, check it out!!! Shane Hawkins is the son of Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, who passed away not long ago from a drug overdose. It's in credible look at a young kid seeming to fight his way through his dad's death though music...he is only 16 years old. It's impressive and humbling!!!!

Staying dialed in with motivational authors and speakers keeps me close to current topics and ideas for sparking change in my clients who are trying so hard to let go of substances! Thanks to Tanya Brown, author and speaker, and Erik Swanson, who apparently is also known as "Mr. Awesome" for an especially laugh-filled dinner last night!

Clear-headed living rocks, you guys! It does NOT have to be boring, believe it or or not.

Welcome to Newport Sobriety Services! Our mission is to reduce potential relapse among men, women, and teens in early sobriety and help them sustain permanent recovery from addiction.

For those newly sober or returning home after treatment, there is a critical need for continued support to ensure a transition to structured, healthy, sober living.

After all the work they did to get sober, there isn't much to help them KEEP sober besides reminders to continue therapy and attending meetings if they are on a 12-step track. (For those who aren't doing 12-steps, the options are even fewer.

Family and friends hold their breath and pray they don't relapse. But they do. Studies show that up to 60% of teens discharged from treatment relapse in the first 12 months.

This transition is the most vulnerable time in the recovery process. Why aren't we doing more?

Seeing this gap in the treatment process, we founded Newport Sobriety Services.
