There will be ups and downs, but at the end of the day you know that what you put into it is what you will receive. For those of you that are married this might sound familiar. James Marin and Dahlia Marin are the co-founders of Married to Health and the first 100% plant-based SIBO/IBS nutrition program. Married to Health is an integrative dietetic practice which brings together the best in medical nutrition therapy to bridge the gaps in health maintenance, disease prevention and disease reversal, when possible.

Please chew! Chewing does so many things for you, ESPECIALLY if you are already suffering from chronic GI issues.

-It obviously breaks down fiber
-It incorporates enzymes to help you digest
-It incorporates microbes to ensure proper bioavailability
-It prepares your other organs to promote optimal digestion

Just your reminder to chew your food and if you want to get technical studies recommend 30 chews per bite, but clearly there is some variability.

Here is what you need to know about histamines. They are in your food, they are in your body, and they are everywhere in the environment! They are not bad, but just like everything else they can get out of balance!

Allergies, GI symptoms, rashes, bladder issues, even heart palpitations and so much more are signs your gut isn’t properly processing histamines.

Many say raw foods are important for enzymes, but overall proper gut health is important for enzymes.

Your GI symptoms are a sign things are not on track and therefore your enzymes can be suboptimal.

One in particular is DAO! This enzyme is primarily produced in your small intestines so you can imagine what is happening if you have IBS, SIBO, IMO, ISO, etc disrupting its production.

These are 5 gut health and overall health indicators! Let us know if you have all 5 or if you are missing a lot!

1. Do you sleep very well? No waking up to use the restroom in the night, no reflux or GI pain, easy to fall asleep and stay asleep, deep REM sleep. 😴

2. Do you wake up after 7-8 hours of sleep with great energy? ⚡️

3. Are you waking up with someone that brings you true joy and fulfillment? We always say who you are eating with can bring you more symptoms than what you are eating. 🥰

4. Do you start your day with deep spiritual prayer? Spiritual health and a connection to our creator is a massive indicator of positive health outcomes. 🙏🏼

5. Last but not least, are you having a daily, amazing bowel movement? 💩 This should be no pushing, fully complete, and a nice sturdy log. 🪵

Studies show regular consumption of ultra processed foods (like candy) are a risk factor for gut-derived inflammation. Your had its day of fun and is ready to get back to whole foods, deep colors high in antioxidants, fiber, protein, and fermented ingredients. 🦠 💩
