The most important relationship you’ll ever have in this life is the one you have with yourself.

The way you talk to yourself.
How you spend time with yourself.
What you know (or don’t know) about yourself.
How you motivate yourself.
How you care for yourself.

All of this impacts the quality of your life and the relationships you have with other people.

If you’ve been feeling disconnected from yourself, unsure of what you like, or unclear on what actually matters to you, this might be an invitation to turn inward.

What are small ways you can spend time with yourself?
How might you begin tending to this relationship the same way you would any other meaningful one?

A reminder that your past and your circumstances don’t have to define you. Life is a journey of overcoming obstacles, reconnecting with who we truly are, rediscovering what we need and what we’re capable of, and surprising ourselves with our own resilience. We don’t always have a say in what happens to us, but we do have a say in how we respond.

Sometimes we think we need to search outside of ourselves for wisdom…through podcasts, books, or TED Talks. And while those things can absolutely be helpful, I think many of us forget about our own inner wisdom.

There’s a voice inside of us that knows what we need. That knows what we want. A voice that can imagine, create, problem-solve, and explore.

But in this day and age, we’re constantly plugged in…into entertainment, other people’s ideas, and advice that may not actually resonate with who we are or our unique circumstances.

If we become more intentional about reconnecting with that inner voice, we may discover we already have far more within us than we realized.

So how do we practice this?
Maybe it’s taking a walk without headphones.
Maybe it’s journaling for 20 minutes at the start of your day.
Maybe it’s making art inspired by your experiences or how you feel.
The more we practice listening inward, the more we uncover.

Some thoughts on self-discipline 🤔💭
One of the things I stay disciplined with is moving my body every day, whether that’s a walk, stretching, an at-home workout, a run, etc. It allows me to connect with myself and put down my responsibilities for a bit, while also tending to what my body needs so I feel better throughout the day. However, the way I encourage myself to do this is intentional, not forceful. It takes practice!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on how you lovingly practice self-discipline in your life?🙂

This has been on my heart and mind, which makes me think it may be for others too. No advice or tips today, just some reflecting on life. I hope this reaches whoever else needs to hear it. 🤍

For someone who’s been craving slowness for so long, I haven’t been doing the best job of actually soaking in this slower season I’m in. There are many times in life when we’re handed circumstances completely outside of our control. Yet, there are other times when life slows down…when there’s more room for rest, play, and comfort. Rather than filling up that extra space, it’s up to us to let ourselves soak in the slowness. A gentle reminder to enjoy your slower seasons while they last.

I’ve noticed my own feelings of sadness and grief this holiday season, and I know there must be many of you out there having your own experiences this month, too. Though there’s a lot of joy and excitement in the air, this work allows me to see the other side of this season that isn’t talked about as much.
To everyone who’s hurting this holiday season, please know that you’re not alone. Nothing is wrong with you. You don’t need to force positivity, and this may not last forever. Take time to check in with yourself, do what’s best for you this year, and seek support when you need it. We are meant to connect with one another, no matter what we’re bringing to the table.

Many of us have the very untrue belief that “everyone else has it together”. As someone who is exposed to so many different kinds of people, I feel confident in being able to assure you that it’s just not true. Do we sometimes have good weeks, months, years? Definitely! But this idea of “having it all together” is so unrealistic and can lead to so much discouragement when unchecked.
Gentle reminder for everyone who sees this - we are all just trying our best. Give yourself some grace. I bet you may even have things to be proud of🙂

Working on your mental health doesn’t have to be overwhelming, and you don’t need to change your whole life overnight. For most people, it’s the small, consistent choices that make the biggest difference. Little habits add up, and can help you build a life that feels a lot more balanced.
I wanted to share just a few habits that can help with your wellness throughout the day. I’d love to hear your thoughts or if you have any of your own to share!

You’re not alone if slowing down feels uncomfortable for you — especially if you’re someone who keeps busy. However, when you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or burnt out, it’s often the exact thing your body is asking for. If you’ve tried slowing down before and it felt “boring”, “uncomfortable” or “too hard,” I encourage you to give it another try. It gets easier with practice, and your nervous system may even thank you for it.
Here are a few ideas to practice this in a gradual way ↓

1. Eat a meal without any screens — notice what your food tastes like (temperature, taste, texture), or what floats through your mind as you eat
2. Take a walk without music or a podcast — bonus if you can tune into your environment (what do you see, hear, smell, feel?)
3. Do one task at half-speed — making coffee, brushing teeth, folding laundry
4. Pause for 30 second intervals throughout your day — feel the floor beneath your feet, look around, readjust your seating, take some breaths
5. Stretch for 2–3 minutes when transitioning between activities — notice where your body feels tight or relaxed.
I hope these are helpful!🫶🏼

For many overachievers, workaholics, or honestly anyone just trying to make more money in this economy (🫩), life can very easily become a series of back-to-back tasks and responsibilities. It doesn’t take much to get stuck on the hamster wheel of always chasing the next thing — a better job, more money, the next promotion, a bigger home, etc.

While goals and aspirations are important, we’re in a time where burnout is higher than ever, and people are feeling disconnected from themselves and from what actually matters.

Yes, a good life takes hard work, and we do need goals to move forward in this world. AND ALSO, if that’s all we focus on, life can become colorless and draining.

What brings you joy? Who in your life inspires you? What activities excite you or ground you? When do you feel most like yourself?

If we don’t make time for these things, days turn into weeks, which turn into months, then years — and suddenly we’re wondering what we’re even doing.

If you’ve made it this far, here’s a question for you: How can you start prioritizing the experience of life again?

These reminders are based on thousands and thousands of sessions with clients, many who were unable to move forward because of unhelpful/rigid ways of thinking and seeing themselves.
I could spend an hour going into each one of these but I wanted to share some that I often find myself telling to clients, or helping them believe on their own.
We can’t always pick what thoughts pop up in our heads, but we CAN choose which to believe and which to hold onto.
I’d love to hear some reminders you have to share with others who are also on their healing journeys 🌻🌞
