If your lower face looks tired, downturned, or tense—even at rest—DAO Botox can make a subtle but powerful difference.
Why we do it
The DAO (Depressor Anguli Oris) muscle pulls the corners of the mouth down. Over time, overactivity here can:
Create a permanent frown or sad expression
Pull the lower lip inward, thinning its appearance
Increase tension in the chin, emphasizing dimpling or heaviness
By relaxing this muscle, we let the opposing elevators do their job—resulting in a softer, more balanced lower face.
What it improves
✔️ Gently lifts the mouth corners (no “frown” look)
✔️ Allows the lower lip to evert slightly, looking fuller without filler
✔️ Smooths chin tension and restores harmony between lip and chin
Where we place it
Tiny, precise injections are placed just lateral to the mouth corners, directly into the DAO muscle
Dosing is conservative—this is about balance, not freezing
Often paired thoughtfully with chin or mentalis treatment, depending on anatomy
The result
A relaxed, refreshed lower face that still moves naturally—just without the downward pull.
