About Dr. Michael Cerni
Dr. Michael Cerni received a Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown State University graduating on the dean’s list with a Biology major and Chemistry minor. He received his post graduate degree from The College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines Iowa. A Family Practice Physician in Southern California for thirty-five years, he was the founder and medical director for Primary Care Associates, a multi-physician multi-specialty group practice and its subsidiary New Dimension Weight Management Center, an innovative disciplined approach for nutrition and healthy lifestyle. During that time he was privileged to serve as Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine for the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and as a Preceptor for students, externs and interns from a wide range of medical disciplines. He was a partner and sat on the Board of Directors for Care Medical Group, an independent physician Association representing over one hundred doctors, overseeing operations, risk management, quality assurance and finances until the eventual sale of the corporation. He was also a founding partner for Pro Care Medical, and practice management consultant for CareMore Medical Group, both large Southern California medical management services organizations. Dr Cerni has been on the staff of St Jude Medical Center, Whittier Hospital and Brea Community Hospital.Long time residents of Laguna Niguel, California Dr. Cerni and wife Zara have played active roles in the community and charitable organizations. Dr. Cerni served on the Board of Directors of Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center Foundation, Mission Hospital’s CEO Council, and previously sat on the Board of Directors for The Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley and its steering committee. At the request of and in collaboration with Superior Court judges Dr. Cerni lectures on nutrition and related topics for the Orange County Community Courts Foundation. He is an active member of:

Dr. Cerni founded and serves as Medical Director for Physicians Center for Renewal. His special interests include biomechanics, preventative medicine, medical aesthetics and nutrition, being the first physician in Southern California to be certified by in anti-inflammatory nutrition by the non-profit Inflammation Research Foundation. Zara is currently director of patient services for Physicians Center For Renewal and serves on the executive board and fundraising committee for Rivals United For A Kure and Women of Chapman. As a past board of director for The Collaborative Courts Foundation she chaired their first two annual benefits “ Previously Zara co-owned and operated Crewzer Incorporated a manufacturing company creating designs in apparel and orchestrating a sales team to market the our company designs. She volunteered her time fundraising for Camino Health Centers an affiliate of Mission Hospital. She served on the board of directors for Camino Health Centers in the capacity of VP Membership, President and Advisory Board and chaired two of Camino’s major fundraisers. In addition to Camino’s board, Zara served on Mission Hospital’s Board of Directors as the liaison to Camino Health Centers. Zara’s professional career also included designing and space planning for health care facilities and framed numerous publicity events and open houses for physicians and hospital administrations. She was the administrator at St Clair Medical Network and VP of operations of the Independent Physicians Association (IPA) and managed a full facility medical center. Before marrying her husband Michael, she was a buyer for May Company Department stores in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Being a fitness enthusiast, Zara taught Spin, Kick Boxing, Boot Camp and Crew Classes at a boutique fitness facility in Dana Point, California. She believes that true health starts from within and became certified by Dr Barry Sears, author of The Zone and founder of the Inflammation Foundation in Anti-Inflammatroy Nutrition and continues her studies as a Health Coach. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and an associate degree from The Ron Baron School of Design.
