Dry, cracked heels and calluses are not always a foot problem.

WHAT I DO WHEN EVERYTHING GOES OFF PLAN
Letter Sixteen

I haven’t written to you in a while, even though I promised I would do it regularly. And maybe that once again proves that we are all human — and denying our nature always means losing a small part of ourselves.

So much has happened lately.

For example, Instagram suddenly disabled my account with 1.8 million followers, and I spent 11 straight days trying to get it back.

Or my parents flew all the way across the world to visit me in the U.S., and I wanted to show them the very best of this country.

So we took them to Hawaii — during peak season, for an absurd amount of money — and got 5 straight days of rain and storms out of our 5-day trip.

I’m writing this letter to you as a cheat sheet for what I personally do right now when I need to pull myself out of dark thoughts and start functioning again.

Stop the mental chewing gum.
When something happens in your life, your mind immediately creates three versions:
“It’s all my fault. I missed something. I did something wrong.”
“It’s their fault.”
(Instagram, the government, society…)
“Nothing could be done. It was fate.”

Muscles are the best accessory. I think women are tired of constantly chasing perfection. Most of us do not want to feel exhausted, restricted, or disconnected from ourselves. We want to feel alive in our bodies. We want to wake up without stiffness, move without pain, carry ourselves with confidence, and feel comfortable in our own skin.

That is why I love intelligent movement. Real strength is not about becoming rigid or forcing the body into extremes. Real strength is when the body becomes responsive, coordinated, elastic, and free.
