COVID-19 UPDATE:

Newport Orthopedic Institute has resumed non-essential orthopedic care since June 2020. As always, we will continue to provide expert orthopedic care while putting patient safety first. We understand that COVID-19 has caused some patients to delay their orthopedic care. We can safely see patients at our offices with these additional safety measures in place:

1) Staggered appointment times to ensure patients are able to maintain 6 feet social distancing.

2) Daily temperature reading of staff, physicians and patients as they enter our facilities.

3) Limiting contact and wait time with At-Home Appointment Check-in & Registration.

4) Requiring patients, staff and doctors to wear face coverings to help prevent the spread of the virus.

5) Patient Pre-Op COVID-19 Test: Patients scheduled for surgery will be required to complete a COVID-19 test 3 days prior to surgery followed by self-isolation / home quarantine until scheduled surgery date.

6) Telehealth Appointments offered by phone, tablet or computer to pre-existing patients.

7) Visitor Restrictions: All non-essential guests are asked not to accompany patients in order to limit the number of persons within an enclosed area. If a guest is an essential care-taker for the patient they must also meet CDC screening guidelines.

8) Online Pre-Op Classes: We are offering online pre-op classes through HOI to better prepare patients for a successful surgery & recovery.

9) Limiting personnel in the Operating Rooms.

This week, we celebrate the compassion, expertise, and dedication that NPs bring to every patient encounter.

A special thank you to Marcella Northern, a Nurse Practitioner for Dr. Nader Nassif. Marcy assists Dr. Nassif in surgery as well as conducts physical exams, diagnoses conditions, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and writes prescriptions. She focuses on treating patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis, common knee conditions and sports injuries.
